Mosquito Playoff News

The 2nd Round of the Mosquito Playoffs goes tonight with Cup Qualifying games.

At Lions Park the Blue Jays host the Yankees, while at Grant Park the Reds host the Padres.  First Pitch in both games goes at 6:00 PM.

The Yankees and Padres earned their spots in tonight’s games by winning last night over the Red Sox and Phillies respectively.

Either the Jays or Yankees will move on to face the #1 Seed White Sox in a AL Cup Semifinal.  The #2 Orioles take on the #3 Mariners in the other AL Cup Semifinal. Meanwhile, in the NL Cup Semifinals, the #1 Pirates await the winners of tonight’s Reds v. Padres game. In the other NL Cup Semifinal, the #2 Nationals host the #3 Giants. Semifinals take place on Wednesday and Thursday. Winners move on to the American League and National League Championship Games on Saturday, June 8. The Mosquito Cup Championship goes on Saturday, June 15.

The playoffs don’t end for teams that lose in the Cup competition.  Losses will move teams to the Mosquito Bowl, Shield and Plate competitions.  Look for a full Mosquito Playoff Schedule to be posted soon.
