Players, you have homework– fun homework, that is! One of the best ways for you to get better at baseball is for you to practice at home every day! Here is what you need to do:
- Play catch. Play with someone: Your Dad, your Mom, your sister, your brother, your Gramma, your neighbour, your friend, your dog, somebody. Or at least something– maybe you have a rebounder, or at the very least, a wall! However you do it, throw the ball and catch it.
- Practice hitting. Have someone pitch to you. Or soft toss. Use whiffles or sponge balls if you don’t have much space (don’t smash any windows or TVs!). If you have a tee and a net, use that. And ask your coach about other ways you can practice your hitting at home in your back yard or the park down the street or your rec room!
- Record the number of minutes you spend each day on playing catch and hitting. Get Mom or Dad to sign your sheet. Show it to your coach at the end of the month.
- WIN PRIZES! Ask your coach for more information!
