NCCP Requirements

To ensure that our kids received the best coaching possible, and to ensure that our coaches are given the opportunity to learn and develop as coaches, we require all coaches to have a minimum level of NCCP training for the level that he/she coaches.

As a minimum, all coaches at all levels should have NCCP Initiation Coach Trained status before the season begins, or should be enrolled in clinics complete the requirements during the season.  The AAHA will cover the cost of these clinics.

BC Minor rules require coaches to be qualified at the appropriate levels before taking the field against any other BC Minor association teams in the spring or summer.  Rule 9 in the BC Minor rule book states the following:

  • Mosquito A, AA, AAA, Pee Wee A, Bantam A, Midget AA – One coach must hold Regional Coach Trained status. All other coaches must have Initiation Coach Trained status.
  • Pee Wee AA, AAA, Bantam AA, AAA, Midget AAA – All coaches must have Regional Coach Trained status.
  • Coaches taking teams to Western Canada or Nationals Championships must have Provincial status.

The AAHA offers Coaching Clinics each year, free of charge, to AAHA coaches.  If we do not offer the course you need, there are options to take Coaching Clinics through other associations.  Please visit the NCCP Baseball Canada site to learn more about the NCCP and to register for coaching clinics.
