Good Angels Versus Bad Angels?

Abby Red 13
North Delta 6

The Peewee AA Abby Red team traveled to North Delta on Tuesday night.  Since both are nicknamed the Angels, dare we say it was a classic confrontation between good and evil?  Maybe not.  Regardless, the Abby Red boys came in shorthanded and facing the low that inevitably follows an emotional win, having won the Lyle Nestergard Tournament in dramatic fashion on Sunday. Abbotsford was sluggish and lacked focus, making many mental errors, especially on the basepaths. In the end they had enough talent to grind out a win, but it was the ugliest win of the season, that is certain. There were a few noteworthy contributions, including a solid start on the mound from Conall Sexton, and some excellent hitting from many players, including Payton Alexander. Spanky Stewart showed great leadership and settled the team down when they needed it, pitching a strong final two innings to close out the game.

Don’t Steal From Pirates!

Pirates 13
Red 8
Mosquito Report: In an otherwise sleepy game on Tuesday night, the Pirates pulled off a victory over the Reds at Grant Park.  Some stellar pitching by Joel Robinson was overshadowed only slightly by the amazing work of the Pirate catchers – Connor Krahn and Byron Edwardson. Both catchers combined for 3 throw out steal attempts – 1 on 2nd and 2 on 3rd.  Alas ye be warned…!
